The brief.
A heritage interior renovation in 69 Jor Bagh — preserving the existing structure, rewriting the interiors. Three bedrooms, a single living-dining, and a kitchen that needed to read both heritage and current.
A heritage interior renovation in 69 Jor Bagh — a different kind of project from our ground-up reconstructions. Where the others build new, this one preserves the structure and rewrites the inside.
Material, palette, register — the chapters that make up the project.

We kept the original moulding profiles, lifted the ceiling to its true height, and added a fireplace mantel sourced from a salvage yard in Karol Bagh. The flooring stays — original Burma teak, polished and sealed.
Three bedrooms in three palettes. Master in soft creams with a single reading chair under the window. The second in deeper greens with a vintage almirah preserved from the original home. The third is the children's — pastels, custom shelving, room to grow.
Heritage renovations work when you know what to keep. We left the windows alone — the original Burma teak frames are irreplaceable. We rebuilt the wardrobes, replaced the lighting, and restored the cornicing. The home is two-thirds the original, and the better third for it.
